Translations, Affiliates, and More

I’m going to start with the “more” part and say that later today, on Sunday, I will be leaving for a week on my annual retreat into the mountains for Summer camp! So I won’t be making any updates in that time, nor will any new translations for the Ancient Hylian Texts be released after today’s translations. However, I now move on to the “Translations” part!

Many New Affiliates and Updates

Yes, once again I have added new affiliates, but this time I got a little behind so I am adding a whopping five new affiliates! They are: Hylian Fire, Hyrulian War, ZRPG, Zelda Junkies, and Zelda Portal. Be sure to check them all out, as they all offer unique content on either the Zelda series itself, or on other zelda sites! If any site is interested in affiliating with LoZ.com, be sure to check out our “Affiliation” page under Main Features.

Zelda Questionnaire

Hey guys. I got an interesting email yesterday asking if I could help out with a project. Slwzelda sent me the following questions, and asked that anyone who is willing to take the time to answer them all send them to slwzeldalion@aol.com. And thus, I am passing it along and asking that you help a guy out if you get some extra time. Here are the questions:

Next Translations Are Here!

That’s right, we’ve managed to successfully finish both the translation on chapter 2, as well as the translation on chapter 3. This is very exciting for us, as we are really learning the deepest, most historical histories of Hyrule, as well as wonderful explanations for mysteries we’ve seen but never understood.

In these chapters, the large rock between Goron City and the Lost Woods is explained, and the mysterious Peahat is finally illuminated. To find the Ancient Hylian Texts, visit the home page and under “Main Features” click “Ancient Hylian Texts” and voila! Enjoy!

Nintendo Round-Up

Good evening LoZ.com, and welcome to today’s news!

A few days ago, the trailer for the Metroid Prime Trilogy – a collection of the three Metroid Prime games that are out for the Gamecube and Wii – showed up over at Gametrailers. [read the full story]

First Translation is in!

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, the first translation of the scrolls we found is in! As it turns out, our original hypothesis that they were the fabled Ancient Hylian Texts scrolls was correct. So far, we’ve found what was labeled “Book One: Hiparáduse ëk Alba Hirule” which translates as “Heaven and Holy Hyrule”; at this point, we are not sure what this label means. However, we are rapidly underway to translating the next chapter, though it does appear to be shorter, so we may be able to get it and one other done by tomorrow! The link to the book and chapter listings can be found under Main Features, labeled “Ancient Hylian Texts”.

The first chapter, as it is, details the creation of Hyrule as depicted in the legend of the Ocarina of Time, and is quite an interesting read. We hope that you find it rather enjoyable! Be sure to submit your comments on the forums.

Until next time!

We’ve Made a Discovery!

Denizens of LoZ.com…fans, patrons, guests, members…we have made a discovery of ancient and cosmic proportions.

For millennia, Scholars have studied ancient religious texts such as the Holy Bible, the Torah, and the Koran, to name a very select few. They’ve been translated and retranslated, analyzed, studied, and the like. However, these things are all old. They have been studied by people long dead before we even got to know they existed. Now is our time to shine.

I am pleased to announce that we here at LoZ.com have discovered ancient scrolls buried in the Gerudo Desert, all bearing ancient Hylian markings. We are not sure what this means at the moment, but it looks like it could be the fabled Ancient Hylian Texts. However, at this time, we cannot read the writing, and are working more on preserving the documents for further study. We will continue to study them and hopefully in a few days, we will be able to give more information!

Until then, be sure to check out our forums, as well as become fans on Facebook or follow us on Twitter!

ZI: Revolution Day ‘09; New Staff

On the 16th of this month, our affiliate ZeldaInformer celebrated their second birthday as a site. For the last two years, ZeldaInformer has led the way in terms of Zelda Editorial Theorizing as well as news reporting. They are often the first and most detailed on any news story, offering complex and critical analysis of fresh news and old history.

To learn more about their special “Revolution Day”, pay them a visit!

We continue to gain new members on our forums every day, as well as new fans on Facebook every day. Be sure to check out and join our forums, and if you like what you see here on LoZ.com, be sure to become a fan on Facebook! The link to our Facebook page can be found under Interactive.

Also, I’m pleased to announce that Iron Knuckle, a longtime LoZ member, has joined the Staff here at LoZ! He is one of our new Content Writers, currently working on bringing you top quality content for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. This content will be released soon. Keep checking back for more updates!

Prima Games Fansite and More Affiliates

That’s right, I again bring you more affiliates, and this time, we have three.

Firstly, we have become an official Prima Games Fansite! The link on the Affiliates Menu links to their shop of Zelda products, which are all guides basically, but some are Collector’s Editions and some are just regular editions of the guides. What the differences are you should find out for yourself by exploring the site!

Also on the affiliates list is a site dedicated to a specific character of the game: Midna. We are proud to welcome Want Midna Back as an Affiliate here at LoZ.com! The site is dedicated to making sure that Midna, a character they feel is quite spectacular, is reused in a later game in the series. It certainly is an interesting site, so check it out!

Our last new affiliate was created in 2005, but in early 2007 became inactive. However, just recently, the site has been revived, and in the effort to help stimulate that revival, LoZ.com is affiliating with the Hylian Help Desk! Be sure to give them a good visit, and tell your friends that they are back! :P

That’s all I’ve got today. However, expect new content to be going up very soon! Thank you, and be sure to check out the Forums, the Gallery, and our Music!

The Yang to the Wii’s Yin

Wii owners, and potential Wii owners, have all been wondering about one thing at least once in their lives; what if there was a black Wii? Wouldn’t that be totally awesome? Gamers have been toying with this idea for the entirety of the Wii’s existence, and it seems that Nintendo is finally following up on this once so distant dream. [read the full story]
