A Link to the Past Comics are up!

If you enjoyed the Manga we recently added, then you will absolutely love the A Link to the Past comics. They were first published in Nintendo Magazine back in 1992, and were later compiled into a book. That book is now available for you to view by clicking here. Thank you to Zelda for all her hard work in getting this done!

Big things are headed your way for the Groups in the next week or two, so be sure to register on the forums and join a group to get involved! See you there!

3DS Revealed To Suppress Press Leaks

Just a quick bit of news from yours truly. The Nintendo 3DS is a hot topic at the moment, however people thought it was strange timing for such an announcement when the idea was to reveal the console during this years E3 event. The reason for this sudden announcement was to keep press leaks under control. So whilst this announcement coincides with the launch of the DSi XL, there was a good reason for it. Well in any case we were just mere months away from E3 so there’s plenty more news to come in the near future I’m sure!

End of the Goron Elders

Recently, Last Chance took control of the forum group the Goron Elders. However, under his new harsh reign, the Goron Elders have gone from a peaceful people residing in the snowy mountains to a stolid people of fire and brimstone. They have vacated Snowhead Mountain and moved to the Death Mountain Crater, and it is there that they forge for themselves the weapons they will need in the future. With Dar and the might of the Goron people at his side, Last Chance and the Goron Vanguard, as they are now called, are a force to be reckoned with. Are you prepared?

To stand up against them are the Kokiri Kids, and the Zora Nobles. The three races of Termina are, perhaps, once again heading to be at odds.

Get involved in the groups by heading over to the forums! For more information, check out Stone Tower, a part of the Deku Scrub Playground.

Not 1, Not 2, Not 3, But 4!

That’s 4 Nintendo titles nominated and one winner over at Nickelodeons Kids Choice Award for video games.  The runners-up nominated are Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit……and Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (Doh!). The grand winner of the video games award is  Mario Kart. So well done to Nintendo there for filling the charts with Wii and DS goodness, hopefully this years first-party titles will hold their own just as well!

New Board for Groups

This time around, we want to make the groups more interactive and accessible than they ever have been before. The requirements for joining are still the same: one day of membership and either an introduction thread or 5 posts elsewhere and then you can send in a request to one Group Leader. However, perhaps you want to know more about each group, or the groups in general, before you join? Well, now we have a board for that!

I have just created a new board, called Stone Tower. It is a sub-board of the Deku Scrub Playground (the Introductions board) and it will serve explicitly as a Group recruiting board. The description of it is as follows:

“This is where the three groups will solicit themselves to new members, and also serve as a safe haven to find out anything you want to know about the groups.”

So if you were being held back from joining a group or the forums as a result of uncertainty, now you don’t have to be uncertain! Be sure to come and check out the new Group recruiting board and get involved today! Be sure to visit the forums!

Wii Need More Fun-Enough Products

Last year Nintendos sales did dip, however the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto says that the economic situation can’t be blamed for that. He tells The Economist that products in entertainment are basically more immune to economic change. So the dip in sales last year is down to not producing ‘fun-enough products’ compared to the year before. So whilst he recognises that games industry will always have its up and downs, he humbly admits their faults and strives to continue to create new experiences for gamers. Personally I think this is fantastic to hear a leader in the games industry be straight and honest about what is going on, especially in comparison to Sonys fanboy-style attacks against Nintendo recently. Whilst I’m sure some fans are nodding and saying ‘I told you so’ with regards to their products, hopefully this will encourage Miyamoto and Nintendo even more and I’m also sure that the best is yet to come.
