The Lozzies
In 2009, the Lozzies began with the First Annual Lozzies. “Lozzie” is a colloquialism, because a “LoZer” is a visitor of LoZ.com, and in conversation, many pronounce “LoZ” (our name for ourselves) as “laws” so “law-zee” or Lozzie is what our awards are! A Lozzie is an award that LoZ has given to another fan site for an exceptional aspect of their site. In 2009, the Lozzies began with nine awards being given out. They were as follows:
1. The DaVinci: Site with the most innovative initiative.
2. The Rembrant: Most visually appealing site.
3. The Rising Star: New site with the most potential.
4. The Socialite: Site with the most appealing forum community.
5. The Pulitzer: Site with the best news coverage.
6. The Strategy Geek: Site with the best Game Strategy Content.
7. The Colbert: Site with the best editorial/satire content.
8. The Virtuoso: Site with the most accessible media source.
9. The Pinnacle: Overall Best Site for the Year.
The order in which they were released was not the same as the above listing. Below, each award is listed in order of its release along with its winner, and is linked to the full post that was made about that site. Enjoy!
