Two Lozzie, or not two?
Many apologies to those of you who noticed our downtime yesterday, but it was a mistake on the host’s part. We are, however, back online and good to go, so with that, I am going to be continuing the Lozzies! We’re down to the wire, with the last two being revealed today, and tomorrow, the final one will be revealed! Today, I will be revealing the Strategy Geek, site with the best game strategy content, and the Virtuoso, site with the most accessible media source.
The Strategy Geek: Zelda Dungeon – www.zeldadungeon.net
I’m going to be honest, I’ve not even come close to reading all of Zelda Dungeon’s guides, because I haven’t played that many Zelda games, and because, well, there’s just so much! The extensiveness of Zelda Dungeon’s guidework is absolutely to die for, and it’s every Zelda Webmaster’s dream to have such content.
Of course, the one time I ever did need game help, do you know where I went? Zelda Dungeon, of course! Their guides are extensive, and easy to navigate. They offer so much content for each game that there are probably few nooks and crannies left unexplored by their staff writers. Needless to say, I got the information I wanted and was very satisfied by the end result.
Of course, the guides aren’t just boring “Do this, do that” type stuff, either. Humor, wordplay, and individual style are laced into each guide, and it really feels more like a friend is helping me, rather than someone just telling me what to do. In the end, it makes for a very fun, very rewarding website experience. Any site that aspires to have good game guide content should look to Zelda Dungeon as THE paragon example. Just goes to show what a little dedication can do, eh?
The Virtuoso: Zelda Universe – www.zeldauniverse.net
When one says the word “virtuoso”, it typically means that they are good at music or the arts. Well, in this sense, we can safely apply it to Zelda Universe! The Media collection at Zelda Universe is vast, and easily accessible. Organized nice and tidily under “Media”, I can find almost anything I could look for. Music? Got it. Artwork? Got it. Comics? Got it. TV show?? Got it!
Now, most sites have some variation of these things, to greater or lesser extents than others, but Zelda Universe not only has an extremely high volume, but the ease of use is unparalleled. I almost got sidetracked from doing this post just so I could continue to listen to all the music that Zelda Universe has got while looking through their image gallery! It’s like reading a Harry Potter book, sometimes, and coming from a huge Harry Potter fan, that’s a pretty high compliment.
Truthfully, Zelda Universe has much more to offer than just media, but their media collection is, quite frankly, a high point. No visit to Zelda Universe would be complete without a stop off to their media sections, because unless you really just have that much time on your hands, there’s always something new to find, enjoy, and share.
That’s it for today’s Lozzies. Come back tomorrow to find out who won the Pinnacle, for the best overall site for the year! Be sure to leave your comments on our forum.
